Teacher's Notes:
Hopefully students like working with clay! He/She will be creating 4 projects this quarter! Projects may be turned in in any order. Since every four days a new set of students will be trying their luck at working on the potter's wheels, students may need to put a project on hold while it is their turn on the potter's wheel. This will also delay the due dates by 5 days of all the projects that are assigned to him/her after each has done his/her rotation on the potter's wheel. I am attempting to list the due dates of projects on the calendar; however, after the student has taken time to work on the potter's wheel, each will have earned a five (5) day extension on the due dates of the rest of the projects. As a general rule of thumb, students should be turning in a project every 1 1/2 to 2 weeks. Students must work independently because I will need to help the students on the potter's wheels 2 out of every 4 days that they are working on the wheel. Students will need to wedge about 12 pounds of clay on the day before they are scheduled to begin working on the potter's wheel. It will be up to each student to keep track of his or her time so that they are prepared for this. If a student misses his/her allotted time for the potter's wheel, he/she will need to make this time up after school or Wednesday or Thursday. If a problem should arise, please contact me at my email address above! We've had a great semester so far and I hope it continues! Thanks for your help in asking "What project have you turned in lately for Ceramics?" J. Kendall
