Cherie Openlander

I have taught for fifteen years.  This is my eighth year teaching at Becky-David.  I graduated from Southwest Missouri State University with my Bachelor’s in Education.  I worked in the Riverview Gardens School District for eight years and taught third grade. While working there, I completed my Master’s Degree in Elementary Education at the University of Missouri - St. Louis.  I taught third grade upon coming to Becky-David for three years and now this is my fifth year teaching fourth grade.

 

        My expectations and standards for conduct, as well as academic growth, are high. There are many positive rewards for your child in my classroom.  I believe in verbal praise, positive notes, and rewards for good behavior.  I provide a very positive, yet structured, atmosphere for your child while they are in my room.  They receive daily behavior stamps for appropriate behavior and when the student receives ten, they earn a reward from the treasure chest.
