Task

I've decided to call the new series of shows "America's Role in the World Community."  I've chosen six recent events to base the shows on.  You're in charge of researching one of the six shows for me.  Your task is to

  • choose one of the recent events (see Process page)
  • research other situations from the past like the recent event you chose
  • decide, based on your research of the other situations, whether or not America should get involved in your chosen recent event
  • provide a list of resources that supports your opinion, giving a summary of each resource
  • write a short explanation of your opinion, explaining why and how the US should/should not get involved

I don't have time to read a whole research paper to prepare for each one of these shows.  Again, here's what I want: 1) an explanation of your opinion on what America should do about your chosen recent event and 2) a list of resources that supports your opinion, including a brief summary of each resource.

This way I can prepare quickly for each show, be thoroughly informed, and refer to sources that support my stance.  Referring to authoritative resources that support my opinion is a very effective way to persuade my audience to take action.
