The Henderson Library has over 15,000 books of different levels and genres.  The books can be found easily with the computerized "card catalog".  Students come to the library with their entire class and individually.  The library has a large reference area that compliments the curriculum.

Henderson Elementary uses the Accelerated Reader (AR) Program.  This program encourages students to read independently and then take a computerized comprehension test about the book.  Our AR books are marked for easy identification.  A list of the AR titles may be found at Kisker, McClay and Spencer Libraries or see links below.

Our Library has a companion curriculum.  This is taught at various times throughout the year as needed by the classroom teachers.

The library also has a computer lab where students are able to access the internet as an added reference.
