Math Objectives for Second Quarter
· Compare fractional parts of an area model using concrete materials
· Recognize fractions equivalent to one whole
· Construct arrays to introduce factors
· Use and interpret the commutative property
· Construct multiplication patterns
· Understand the relationship between multiplication and division
· Analyze data to make inferences
· Read and interpret information from picture graphs
· Collect data using a survey; record results in a bar graph
Math Objectives for Third Quarter :
- Compare and analyze 2 and 3 dimensional shapes by describing their attributes
- Predict the results of putting together ot taking apart 2 and 3 dimensional shapes
- Represent/model a given situation involving multiplication and related division
- Describe the effects of multiplying and dividing whole numbers
- Use the commutative, distributive, and associative properties of addition and multiplication for basic facts
- Read and interpret information from line plots and graphs
- Describe the shape of data and analyze it for patterns
- Tell time to the nearest five minutes
- Represent commonly used fractions: halves, thirds and fourths
